Muscle toxicity

Biobide is a Contract Research Organization (CRO) specialized in the zebrafish model for tailor-made toxicity and efficacy studies for Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology companies. The advantages of this alternative animal model are mainly its low cost, ease of maintaining and breeding and high genetic homology with humans. Moreover, zebrafish embryos small size, ease of handling and transparency provide an ethically acceptable model that presents a high throughput system with enhanced biological complexity over in vitro models.

Moreover, somatic muscle comprises a large proportion of the body making the zebrafish unique for studying muscular toxicity. At Biobide, we have set up different assays valuable to study it.
