Microplate Alga Growth Inhibition Test

Algae are extensively used as a biosensor for the evaluation of aquatic toxicity during the environmental risk assessment of chemicals. The mandatory test conditions for regulatory assays are defined on the OECD guideline 201 and ISO standard 8692. However, the large test volume required make the methodology time-consuming and impractical for early discovery phases.
