Biobide’s Senior Study Director Celia Quevedo presented a collaboration project with Servier at the 11th Zebrafish Disease Models Society Meeting
The Zebrafish Disease Models Society’s Meeting is an international event dedicated to the advancement of basic and clinical research using zebrafish disease models. This year the event was held back where it started 11 years ago – in Leiden, Netherlands. Since 2007, this event gathers large numbers of investigators working with zebrafish in academia and industry and is not only a great environment/opportunity to find out the latest news and research about the zebrafish models, but also present our own investigation.
This year, Biobide’s Senior Study Director Celia Quevedo presented a poster which focused on the neurodegenerative Alzheimer disease. The main objective of the poster “Deciphering histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6) interaction with human Tau using zebrafish”, prepared in collaboration with French pharma giant Servier, was the characterization of the functional link between Tau and HDAC6 in zebrafish embryos. Evaluating this functional relationship thoroughly could be of help in the investigation of Alzheimer´s and other neurodegenerative diseases.
